Size & Fit
🧵 How do I measure my wrist correctly?
Wrap a piece of string around the place where you wear your watch, then measure it with a ruler or tape measure. Allow a little extra room for a comfortable fit.
🔓 Can I reuse my original deployant clasp?
It depends on the clasp, as deployant clasps vary considerably. Please contact us with a photograph of your clasp so that we can check compatibility.
↔️ What is the difference between lug width and buckle width?
The lug width is the width of the strap where both pieces attach to the watch. The buckle width is the width of the strap at the buckle. A size such as 20/16 mm means 20 mm at the watch and 16 mm at the buckle.
⚖️ Will a 20 mm strap fit a watch with a 19 mm lug width?
Although this may sometimes be possible with a soft strap and a different spring bar, we advise against it. For a secure and clean fit, choose a strap that matches the watch’s lug width.
🔢 What do 20 mm, 21 mm or 22 mm mean on a watch strap?
This is the lug width: the width between the watch lugs where the strap is attached. Common sizes range from 16 to 26 mm, with 20 mm being especially common.
📏 How do I measure my watch’s lug width?
A calliper is ideal. Alternatively, look up the lug width of your watch model and verify it with a ruler. The size is also often printed on the underside of the old strap.
📏 Do you offer extra-long or extra-short straps?
Yes. On request, we make extra-long or extra-short straps to measure.
👕 What sizes and strap lengths do you offer?
Our standard length is 114/72 mm, designed to provide a comfortable fit for as many people as possible. We recommend this size for wrists measuring approximately 16 to 19 cm. Straps with a 16 mm lug width are 104/72 mm and are therefore also suitable for smaller wrists.
📐 What if my wrist size falls between the standard sizes?
No problem—we offer custom-made straps. Simply send us your requirements during checkout or by email.
✂️ What does 114/72 mm mean?
These are the lengths of the two strap pieces: 72 mm on the buckle side and 114 mm on the long side. Together, they make up the strap’s overall length.
📏 Which strap length is right for me?
Measure your wrist circumference and allow approximately 20–30 mm for comfort. Our standard length of 114/72 mm is a good fit for wrists measuring 16–19 cm.
📏 Which lug widths do you offer?
We offer common lug widths from 16 to 23 mm. Other widths may be available as a custom order on request.
📐 Do you offer tapered straps, such as 20/16 mm?
Yes. Many of our straps taper towards the buckle. Common combinations include 20/16 mm and 16/14 mm.
🔍 How can I tell whether I can reuse my original pin buckle?
Measure the strap width at the buckle. The buckle and strap must have the same width. Our standard buckles fit a 16 mm buckle width.
🔩 Does the buckle width need to match my old buckle?
Yes, if you want to reuse your original buckle. Every StrapKlub strap also comes with a buckle, so it is ready to fit and wear.
➰ What is a curved-end strap?
Some straps have a curved end that follows the shape of the watch case. We do not currently offer this type of strap.
❓ Are there watches that do not accept standard straps?
Yes, some watches have special lug attachments. If you are unsure, please contact us.
↔️ Will a 21 mm strap fit a watch with a 20 mm lug width?
Although this may sometimes be possible with a soft strap and a different spring bar, we advise against it. Choose a strap that matches your watch’s lug width.
🔢 What if my watch has an odd lug width, such as 19 or 21 mm?
Then StrapKlub is the right place: we carry those sizes too.
🔍 Should I measure the old strap or the watch itself?
It is best to measure directly on the watch.
📏 Which size do I need?
Every strap has four measurements: its width at the watch and at the buckle, plus the lengths of the two strap pieces—except for a one-piece pass-through strap. A common standard size is 20/16 mm – Regular (114/72 mm). This means that the watch has a lug width of 20 mm between the lugs, where the strap attaches to the watch. The strap tapers to 16 mm at the buckle. The longer strap piece measures 114 mm and the shorter piece 72 mm. The width at the watch must match your watch, while the strap length must suit your wrist circumference. You can measure your wrist with a piece of string and then measure the string. Our Regular length is designed to provide a good fit for as many people as possible, and we recommend it for wrists measuring approximately 16 to 19 cm.
