On these sweltering summer days, I need a strap that can handle the heat. Normally, I would wear my 1966 Enicar Sherpa Super Dive on a Tropic strap. But since yesterday, I have had an alternative.

Alcantara “Travertine”: the Alternative to a Tropic Strap

At first glance, the strap looks like suede. In fact, it is Alcantara—the material familiar from Italian cars of the 1970s and later from Mercedes models. This makes the strap water-resistant and easy to wipe clean. On hot days, that is a real advantage for me.

I can wholeheartedly recommend the Alcantara strap in Travertine (20 mm). Not only because it is practical for everyday wear: the warm colour beautifully picks up the patina of the tritium.
